The Young-ish Adults of the greater Riverside DC community invite you to join in on a nature walk on Kingman Island this Memorial Day! Join us at 11am as we reconnect with nature and each other. This adventure lasts around 75 minutes. To RSVP, email info@riversidedc.org This is a free outing, and all ages are welcome to join us. We encourage fellow walkers to grab lunch with each other after.

About Kingman Island

Right in the middle of the Anacostia River is a magical oasis. This place is the product of dredging the Anacostia River over 100 years ago and is now home to important and rare ecosystems, including tidal freshwater wetlands, vernal pools, wildflower meadows, and tidal swamp forests. The islands are home to more than 100 different species of birds, mammals, and other wildlife. There's a wonderful walking trail and the District of Columbia has made major conservation efforts.
